Rabbits
Our rabbitry is officially back up and running after a year without any rabbits, and 7 years without any breedings.
A snippet from the Livestock Conservancy on the breeds profile:
'Giant Chinchillas are large with mature bucks weighing between 12 to 15 pounds and does 13 to 16 pounds. Meat-producing qualities are given top consideration on the judging table. The breed is gentle in nature. Does have large litters and are very good mothers. Youngsters grow very fast and it's easy to produce a 7-pound fryer in just 2 months.'
DEB’S BBC194
June 2024 we purchased DEB'S BBC194 from Deb's Barn Bunnies in PA. This doe is the start of our breeding/preservation program with Giant Chinchilla rabbits.
She has many champions behind her including: 2023 ARBA Convention BOS (sire Triple H's Rocky), and 2024 NJSRCBAOA BOS (Deb's BBC174), her grandparents are national winners as well.
DEB’S BBC188 - Buck
We have also added DEB’S BBC188, a 2023 buck who earned his first leg at the 2023 ARBA Convention as a junior.
We have our first litter on the ground after 7 years! We have six kits that we will be growing out until January or February at which point we will evaluate for quality and begin contactig our waiting list.
